ANNUAL YARD SALE A HUGE SUCCESS!

Askennonia Senior Centre’s Annual Indoor Yard & Bake Sale, held Saturday June 7, was a roaring success. Thanks to all the donations received from the members and the community and thanks to all the volunteers who helped set-up and sell and thanks to Jessie Healey and Glenda from Community Living Huronia's work experience program for spending many hours sorting and storing donations, Askennonia is able to shout out that our gross profits were $1500! Thanks to the Midland Mirror for their ongoing support and for mentioning the event on the Front Page! What a differece that makes.

HEARING HELP CLASSES AVAILABLE

Whatʼs that you say? Askennonia Senior Centre is hosting Hearing Help Classes starting Monday May 5 from 1:30-3:30pm? Yes, thatʼs right. The community is invited to register for the Canadian Hearing Societyʼs 8 week course for adults with acquired hearing loss (and their significant others can attend free).

The goal is to improve communication within families and between friends and to decrease frustrations associated with hearing loss. The course offers a step-by-step approach to coping with hearing loss and improving communication skills in a variety of listening environments.
