Askennonia will host a Drum Painting Workshop this summer, when people who made drums March 12 will be able to personalize them. The cost is $1.00 plus materials.
If you have brushes and acrylic paints, your are welcome to bring them and not pay a material fee of $4. If you wish, paint, etc will be supplied for $4.
Please register in advance to permit room set up and materials to be prepared in advance. You must indicate whether or not you will need paint supplies.

You need to arrive with some idea of the pattern style you might wish to use. Try to resize your art work so it is the size you want on the drum. Photocopiers can either reduce in increase the size of your artwork. There are some good places to look for inspiration: books or computer sites with Pictograph/petroglyph images, sites with symbols, stained glass pattern books, animal track books, simple colouring books, etc.

A tentative date of APRIL 13 has been set for the Drum Birthing Ceremony. Mark it on your calendar. Details about the birthing ceremony, the May rattle making workshop in Barrie and the beading of your drum stick will follow soon.
