Computer Workshops

Classes are offered by Christine Nugent and will run 9:15am - Noon on Wed mornings. People can use one of our 6 desktops or use your own laptop.
Beginner or intermediate courses cost $35 by cheque to reserve your spot and includes 9 hours of instruction and lots of handouts that will allow you to practice at home or on Tuesday mornings at Askennonia.

Other courses include:
Digital Cameras Level 2-organizing picture files with folders, backing files onto CD’s (burning) and photo editing.

Windows Explorer Level 2-organizing folders and files; backing up files.

Internet Searching-fine tuning your search, copying and pasting off the internet; emailing will deal with attaching files, distributions lists, downloading safely.

Word Processing Level 2- more with inserting pictures, tables, labels and newsletters.

Computer Classes are open to all members. You should have a good understanding of computers to take the Intermediate class.

Cost of the 3 morning (9 hr total) Beginner or Advanced Class is $35 and 3 hr workshop is $10 by cheque at time of sign-up. Computer Club practice time is Tuesday mornings, when members come together to share what they know and assist each other. Volunteers are on hand to lend a hand.

Internet and Email- advance searching, Facebook, banking online, email attachments, downloading.(read on)

Word Processing- columns, inserting pictures, newsletters, fliers

File Management– saving files in folders in My Documents, My pictures, in email and favorites so that you can find them again, using a memory stick, maintaining your machine

Facebook and social media courses are offered as well.
