Click HERE for a short video introducing the benefits of Nordic or Urban Poling.
Nordic walking combines an upper body technique similar to cross-country skiing with the lower body technique of walking. Participants will burn 20-40% more calories and tone core muscles by walking with poles. Poling reduces stress on hips, knees and ankles and improves stability, balance and posture. We will be using the Urban Poling technique which involves walking with specialized strapless poles. Loaner poles will be available or you can purchase a new set at Askennonia for $105 including taxes & shipping. Visit reception to buy your $35.00 Fitness Card (for 10 classes = $3.50/class), which will be 'punched' each time you attend a class. It is easy to learn, fun, and suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
